40K Champs
War in the Wastelands is a 2 Day Tabletop Open Event in the High Desert of Albuquerque, New Mexico at The UNM continuing Education Building.
This Two-Day Warhammer 40K GT Main Event will take place July 25th and 26th. Players will compete in 5 Rounds over 2 Days to find the Champion of the Wastelands!

Warhammer Narrative
This Narrative is designed to put you, and your army into the gritty universe of Warhammer 40,000. With custom created missions, interactive characters, and scenic battlefields this is truly the way to play. Narrative itself puts a high emphasis on story telling, and interactivity, you will be given more objectives than you can complete forcing you into making choices to either help yourself, or the overall war effort. You will also be charged with forging your own path and bringing you, and your characters to glory through upgrades, experience, and even your own fame or infamy among your fellow players. Join the fight, join the narrative and place yourself into the Universe of Warhammer 40,000.
Paint Competition

We will have 3 categories for the painting competition at our inaugural event. Best in 40k army, best in AOS army, and Best in show with any single model entry.
​We will use the attached event rubric to ensure that all participants are well-prepared to showcase their talents. All armies will undergo a preliminary evaluation, and then the top 10 armies from 40k and Aos will be photographed for additional judging. Each army will be assessed on Composition & Cohesion, Palette & Color Theory, and Execution, Build, & Technical Skill.
Basic Requirements

Basing:- Bases must be at least minimally painted and/or textured.

Fully Painted:- The army must be fully painted with no visible bare plastic or resin.
